Constitution of india.
No. Seprani-2023/C.R. 101/Desk-1426.— In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to
article 309 of the Constitution of India and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf, the Governor
of Maharashtra is hereby pleased to make the following rules further to amend the Gazetted Officers
(Group A and Group B) in the Directorate of Economics and Statistics (Recruitment) Rules, 2024 as
follows, namely :—
1. These rules may be called Gazetted Officers (Group-A and Group-B) in the Directorate of
Economics and Statistics (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2025.
2. In rule 3 of the Gazetted Officers (Group A and Group B) in the Directorate of Economics
and Statistics (Recruitment) Rules, 2024 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal rules”) for the
existing proviso the following proviso shall be substituted, namely :—
“Provided that, where a suitable person holding the post of the Additional Director having not
less than three years of regular and continuous service on that post is not available, then a suitable
person on the basis of seniority having not less than one year of regular and continuous service on
the post of the Additional Director and having not less than eight years of a regular and continuous
service on the post of Additional Director and Joint Director collectively in the Directorate, shall be
appointed to the post of the Director, Directorate of Economics and Statistics.”
3. In rule 5 of the principal rules, after the words “Senior Research Officer” the words “or
District Planning Officer” shall be inserted.
4. In rule 6 of the principal rules,—
(i) after the words “Senior Research Officer” the words “or District Planning Officer” shall
be inserted.
(ii) in sub-rule (I), after the words “Statistical Officer (Inspection)” the words “or Assistant
District Planning Officer” shall be inserted.
(iii) in sub-rule (2), in clause (c), for the words “five years” the words “three years” shall
be substituted.
5. In rule 7 of the principal rules, after the words “Statistical Officer (Inspection)” the words
“or Assistant District Planning Officer” shall be inserted.
