## Report on the Government of India Allocation of Business Three Hundred and Seventieth Amendment Rules, 2022 **1. Executive Summary:** This report analyzes the Government of India Allocation of Business Three Hundred and Seventieth Amendment Rules, 2022, based on the official gazette notification. This amendment to the Government of India Allocation of Business Rules, 1961, specifically assigns "Matters relating to online gaming" to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and includes "eSports as part of multisports events" under the purview of the Department of Sports within the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The core purpose of this amendment is to formally allocate responsibility for online gaming regulation and to recognize eSports within the framework of national sports governance. This clarification likely aims to provide a clear regulatory framework and promote the development of eSports in India. **2. However, the specific procedures and timelines for implementing the new regulations and initiatives are not detailed in the text and would require further investigation. * The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will likely need to develop a framework and specific procedures for regulating the online gaming sector. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will likely need to formulate guidelines for integrating eSports into multisports events. **8. Conclusion:** The Government of India Allocation of Business Three Hundred and Seventieth Amendment Rules, 2022, represents a significant step towards formalizing the government's approach to the growing sectors of online gaming and eSports. By assigning responsibility for online gaming to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and recognizing eSports within the Department of Sports, the amendment aims to provide clarity, promote responsible development, and foster growth in these dynamic industries.
