This addendum to DGS Order No. 20 of 2022, dated January 20, 2023, concerns the certification of offshore vessels and accommodation barges operating in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone. The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) has received requests from stakeholders to extend the implementation time for the ISM Code for crew boats, as per Section 9d of the DGS Order. Considering these submissions, the Competent Authority has agreed to grant a one-time relaxation for the implementation of the provisions under the ISM Code to crew boats until March 31, 2023. This addendum is issued with the approval of the Director General of Shipping & Additional Secretary to the Government of India. It is addressed to all stakeholders/Charterers/Shippers/operators of vessels in offshore area/All Indian Shipping Companies, ONGC, CEO of INSA Mumbai, and President of ICCSA Mumbai. Copies are forwarded to the Secretary to the Govt. of India, Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways; Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas; Director General of Hydrocarbons; and Chairman, ONGC.
