Sir/Madam,
I am directed to convey the sanction of the President of India for a supplementary budget
of Rs. 140 crores for the implementation of the National Bioenergy Programme (NBP) under
Phase-I, for the period from 0l .04.2021 to 31.03.2026. With this supplementary allocation, the
total outlay under Phase-I amounts to Rs. 998 crores. The National Bioenergy Programme is
comprised of the following sub-schemes:
i. Waste to Energy Programme (Programme on Energy from Urban, Industrial and

ii. Biomass Programme (Scheme to Support Manufacturing of Briquettes & Pellets and
