THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES
(SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA)
(a): MHI has implemented FAME-I, FAME-II and PM E-DRIVE schemes to accelerate
adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) on a pan India basis, including in Chhattisgarh.
(i) FAME I scheme: The Phase I of the 'Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric
(&Hybrid) Vehicles in India' (FAME India) was implemented by Government of India from
01.04.2015 till 31.03.2019 with an outlay of ₹895 crore.
(ii) Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles in India Scheme
Phase-II (FAME-II): The Government implemented this scheme for a period of five years from
01.04.2019 to 31.03.2024 with a total budgetary support of ₹11,500 crore.
(iii) PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM EDRIVE)
Scheme: This scheme with an outlay of ₹10,900 crore has been notified on 29.09.2024. PM E-
DRIVE scheme is implemented with effect from 01.04.2024 as Electric Mobility Promotion
Scheme 2024 (EMPS-2024) was subsumed in PM E-DRIVE.
(b): Under the FAME-II and PM E-DRIVE Scheme no state-wise allocation has been done.
However, data of EVs incentivised under both the schemes as on 22.07.2026 is as under : -
Scheme FAME-I FAME-II Scheme PM E-DRIVE Scheme
(supported) (incentivised) (incentivised)

Under FAME-II, 165 no. of EV public charging stations (EV PCS) have been installed by
oil marketing companies (OMCs) in Chhattisgarh of which 152 nos. EVPCS have been energized/
made operational. City/ district-wise details are in Annexure.
(c) & (d): FAME-II and PM E-DRIVE schemes are primarily demand side schemes and there
is no direct support for modernization of heavy engineering or setting up of manufacturing units
including in Chhattisgarh under these two schemes
