Ms. No. 190, Health and Family Welfare (M1), 14th July 2026, ஆனி 30, பராாபவ, திருவள்ளுவர் ஆண்டு-2057.] No. SRO B-37/2026.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Adhoc Rules Published with the Health and Family Welfare Department, Notification SRO B-87/2018, at pages 145-146 of Part-III-section 1(b) of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated: 24th October, 2018.

2. The amendments hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the date of issue of the Gazette of India Notification.

Amendments In the said Rules, -

(1) in rule 4, in sub-rule (b), in THE TABLE, for the entries in column (4) against the entry "Food Safety Officer" in column (2) thereof, the following entries shall be substituted namely:- "The educational qualification prescribed from time to time in the Food Safety and Standards Rules 2011, issued under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (Central Act 34 of 2006), shall be adopted.";

(2) after rule 6, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:- "6A. Training.- Every person appointed as Food Safety Officer have to undergo training as specified by the Food Authority before exercising the powers and duties of Food Safety Officer.".

As and when the vacancies are notified, a copy of the Gazette notification of Government of India prescribing the educational qualifications shall be annexed to the copy of adhoc rules and send to the Medical Services Recruitment Board for notification".
