Dated December 17, 2025, this office order from the Government of India, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), MS(O&M) Section, announces the appointment of Shri Manish Shiva Zole, Deputy Director (PIB), as the Chief of Media & Communications (CMC) for MeitY. This decision follows Ministry of Information and Broadcasting D.O. No. M-20011/10/2025-Press dated November 12, 2025. The CMC will serve as the Single Point of Contact for all media engagements and information dissemination across various platforms.
The CMC will report directly to the Secretary (MeitY) and coordinate with AS/JS/GC dealing with Information, Education and Communication (IEC) matters. All MeitY Divisions must route their media plans through the CMC. TA/DA and other working arrangements expenses will be covered by MeitY as per entitlement.
All Ministries/Departments will have a designated PIB officer acting as single point of contact for information dissemination and publicity related issues. The senior most PIB officer will be called the Chief of Media & Communications (CMC) who will be responsible for all media engagements and information dissemination.
The annexure defines the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on the role and duties of the Chief of Media & Communications. The following SOPs shall apply to operations of CMC for executing paid and unpaid campaigns.

* Drafting & Issuing Press Releases, Rejoinders, FAQs etc.
