Appointment of Chief of Media & Communications

This office order, dated December 17, 2025, from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), announces the appointment of Shri Manish Shiva Zole, Deputy Director (PIB), as the Chief of Media & Communications (CMC) for MeitY. This appointment is in pursuance of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting D.O. No. M-20011/10/2025- Press dated 12.11.2025. The CMC will be the Single Point of Contact for all media engagements and information dissemination across various platforms. The CMC will report directly to the Secretary (MeitY) and coordinate with AS/JS/GC dealing with Information, Education and Communication (IEC) matters. All divisions of MeitY must route their media plans through the CMC. MeitY will cover the expenditure on TA/DA during official tours. The document also encloses the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on the role and duties of the CMC. The CMC will lead all paid campaigns of the Ministry in terms of planning, conceptualizing, and budgeting; coordinate with CBC for the preparation of the Media Plan; coordinate with the Ministry for earmarking funds for campaigns; draft and issue press releases, rejoinders, FAQs, and other official communications; maintain active contact with journalists, editors, and media representatives, etc. The CMC will be assisted by a team of officials from the client Ministry for carrying out the role and shall have an office in the client Ministry.
