Appointment of Chief of Media & Communications

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has appointed Shri Manish Shiva Zole, Deputy Director (PIB), as Chief of Media & Communications (CMC) effective December 17, 2025. This appointment follows Ministry of Information and Broadcasting D.O. No. M-20011/10/2025- Press dated 12.11.2025. The CMC will be the Single Point of Contact for media engagements and information dissemination for MeitY, reporting directly to the Secretary (MeitY) and coordinating with AS/JS/GC on Information, Education and Communication (IEC) matters. Divisions of Meity will route their media plans for the Ministry's activities/initiatives and response to media through the CMC. TA/DA for the CMC's official duties will be covered by Meity as per entitlement. The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlines the role and duties of the CMC, including leading paid campaigns, coordinating with CBC for media plans, facilitating creatives, campaign strategy, drafting press releases, organizing press conferences, media liaison, fact-checking, media plans for events, conducting press tours, monitoring and feedback, inter-agency coordination, administrative roles, budget and accounting. The CMC will coordinate with the client Ministry for planning the annual budget for IEC activities under 'Advertisement & Publicity' and coordinate with the Ministry to place 40% of Advertisement & Publicity funds with the Ministry of I&B as per DoE OM No. 7/53/2019-BA dated 30.04.2025.
