As per Office Order No. HH-18/2/2025-Personnel of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), dated December 17, 2025, Shri Manish Shiva Zole, Deputy Director (PIB), has been appointed as the Chief of Media & Communications (CMC) for MeitY. This appointment follows Ministry of Information and Broadcasting D.O. No. M-20011/10/2025-Press, dated November 12, 2025.
The CMC will serve as the Single Point of Contact for all media engagements and information dissemination through various platforms and will report directly to Secretary (MeitY) and coordinate with AS/JS/GC on Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) matters. All divisions of MeitY must route their media plans through the CMC.
Expenditure related to TA/DA and other working arrangements for the CMC will be borne by MeitY as per entitlement. The order takes immediate effect with the approval of Secretary (MeitY).
The order is addressed to Shri Manish Shiva Zole, Deputy Director (PIB) and CMC(MeitY), AS(AS)/AS(Pers.), All Group Coordinators, MeitY, Dir(Pers.)/Dir(NK)/Dir(VT)/Dir(MYSK), Dir(Pers.III)/DS(Fin.)/DS(Genl. Admn.)/US(GC)/US(O&M)/SO(Pers.I)/SO(Pers.II), PAO/DDO, and Intra-MeitY Portal/MeitY Website Cell.
It is also copied for information to: DG, NIC/DG, STQC Dte., CEO(UIDAI)/DG(ICERT)/CCA, CEOs of all Autonomous Societies and Companies under MeitY, PS to MEIT/PS to MOS(E&IT), OSD/PPS to Secretary, and All DS's/US's.
The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting’s D.O. No. M-20011/10/2025-Press, dated November 12th, 2025 states that each Ministry/Department will have at least one designated PIB officer who will act as a single point of contact for all the information dissemination and publicity related issues, and will henceforth be called as Chief of Media & Communications (CMC).
The SOPs for CMC include: Conceptualising, Planning and release of Funds, Media Plan and Execution, Creatives, Campaign Strategy, Drafting & Issuing Press Releases, Rejoinders, FAQs etc., Organizing Press Conferences and Media Interactions, Media Liaison & Coordination, Publishing of Op-Eds, Fact Checking, Media Plan for Events, Conducting Press Tours, Monitoring & Feedback, Inter-Agency Coordination, Administrative & Logistical Roles, Budget & Accounting, Team with CMC.
