S.O. 3517(E).— In exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 17 of the Sick
Textile Undertakings (Nationalization) Act, 1974 (57 of 1974), Sub-Section (1) of Section 6 of the British
India Corporation Ltd (Acquisition of Shares) Act, 1981 (29 of 1981), Sub-Section (1) of Section 15 of the
Swadeshi Cotton Mills Company Limited (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1986 (30 of 1986)
and Sub-Section (1) of Section 17 of the Textile Undertakings (Nationalization) Act, 1995 (39 of 1995), the
Central Government appoint Shri Ajay Gupta, Joint Secretary as Commissioner of Payments and defines the
local limits within which the said Commissioner of Payments shall exercise the powers conferred and perform
the duties imposed on him, as the whole of India.
