This report analyzes a notification from the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, dated July 27, 2021, regarding the appointment of Dr. Salman Asad as a member of the Delhi Waqf Tribunal. This notification serves as an amendment, replacing Sh. Faizi O Hashmi. The core purpose is to ensure the continued functionality of the Delhi Waqf Tribunal in resolving disputes related to Waqf properties and related matters. The key finding is the seamless transition facilitated by this amendment to maintain the tribunal's operations.
**2. Introduction:**
This report provides an informative analysis of a government notification pertaining to the Delhi Waqf Tribunal. The analysis is based solely on the provided text of the notification.
**3. Policy Overview:**
This notification acts as an *amendment* to existing policies and legislation concerning the Delhi Waqf Tribunal and its operations under the Waqf Act, 1995. The amendment is likely required to ensure the Tribunal maintains the necessary number of members to function effectively and handle its caseload. Without a replacement, the tribunal's ability to resolve disputes promptly and efficiently could be compromised.
