Posted On: 28 SEP 2026 5:37PM by PIB Mumbai Mumbai, 28 September 2026 The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Mumbai Branch Office, organised a Seminar-cum-Manak Manthan Programme on the Wide Circulation Draft for revision of IS 14772:2020 – Boxes and Enclosures for Electrical Accessories for Household and Similar Fixed Electrical Installations — General Requirements today at the BIS Mumbai Branch Office, Powai.
The programme was organised to apprise stakeholders of the key changes proposed in the draft revised standard and the applicable testing requirements, besides providing a platform for obtaining their views, suggestions and comments on the draft.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Anurag, Scientist-C, BIS, who welcomed the participating stakeholders and highlighted the importance of stakeholder participation in the standardisation process.
Technical sessions were conducted by Shri Rushikesh Ghodake, Scientist-C, Mumbai Branch Office, BIS, covering the key changes proposed in the draft revised standard and the testing requirements related to IS 14772:2020.
The technical sessions were followed by a Stakeholder Interaction and discussion, during which participants shared their views, suggestions and comments on the proposed revision and testing requirements.
The Seminar-cum-Manak Manthan Programme provided an important platform for interaction between BIS and stakeholders and facilitated meaningful discussions on the proposed revision of the Indian Standard. The inputs received from stakeholders will support the standardisation process and contribute towards the effective implementation of the revised requirements.BIS continues to engage with industry and other stakeholders through such Manak Manthan programmes to promote wider participation in the development and revision of Indian Standards and to strengthen the quality and standardisation ecosystem.
