Booking window will be opened from 1000hrs / 01.01.2026 to 1800hrs / 25.01.2026 for
fresher and repeater candidates of 1st Mate PH-II (FG), 1st Mate PH-II (NCV), Extra Master
(Part C), Dredge Grade & 2M (FC) for written examinations and all gradesof oralexaminations.
Written examinations are tentatively scheduled to commence from 02.02.2026 [Note: The
examination schedule has been displayed on DGS website.] The date may change depending on
the circumstances. Candidates, therefore, continue to monitor the DGS website for any change in
thedateexamination.
2. The booking may commence from 01.01.2026 to 25.01.2026 to facilitate the candidates
(fresher and repeater). However, the candidates are advised to be guided by the respective
MMD’sinstructionsinthisregard.
3. AllNCV&ExtraMasterwrittenexaminationwillbeconductedinMumbaiOnly,Dredge
Grade written examination will be conducted in Kolkata Only & 2M (FC) written examination
willbeconductedinMumbai&Kolkataonly.
4. Candidates are requestedto be guided by DGS (NT/Exam) Circular No.13 of 2022 dated
16.06.2022forbookingandappearingincompetencyexaminationsofthenauticaldiscipline.
5. Alltherelevantmodularcoursesneedtobecompletedfortheoralexamination.
6. Candidates who are serving on a ship (Articles of a ship) are not eligible for applying for
anonlineexamination.
7. Candidates whoare unable to appearinanonline oral examination, mayopt for attending
theoralexaminationatMMDs.Insuchcases,thecandidatesarerequiredtospecifybyanemailto
the Exam Centre of the concerned MMD immediately upon booking with booking reference
details,whetheronlineorphysicalexaminationmethodisbeing selected.Evenin suchasituation
theoralexaminationattheMMDwillbeconductedthroughanonlineplatformattheMMD.

10. Fresh applicants may complete the online assessment process at the respective MMDs
as per usual practice. Candidate may forward the required documents for assessment of
eligibility to the MMD through the institute by speed post or courier at the earliest. The
candidate need not visit MMD for the purpose of assessment. Once the assessment is
approved,freshcandidatescanbookseatsfortheExamination.
11. The MMDs will display the dates of conduct of the signal visual examination.
Candidates may therefore contact the respective MMD for details regarding the conduct of
signalvisualexaminations.
