Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the premier Telecom R&D centre of the Government of
India, has been conferred the prestigious “IEEE SA Corporate Award - 2025” for providing outstanding
leadership and contributions to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Standards
Association (IEEE SA). IEEE SA is an operating unit within IEEE that develops global standards in a
broad range of industries like telecommunication, AI, electronics and many more. The IEEE SA award
recognize outstanding contributions and voluntary participation in standards development through an
annual program that celebrates leaders, innovators, and collaborators from around the world, through
various award categories.
C-DOT has been conferred IEEE SA Corporate Award 2025 for “pioneering contributions in advancing
IEEE standards in wireless broadband, rural 5G, telecom education, and for building globally recognized
frameworks for standards-based innovation from India through leadership and advocacy.” So far only four
member organizations across the globe have received the Corporate Award earlier, since inception of
IEEE. C-DOT has become the fifth recipient of this award globally and the First organisation from India.
Additionally, IEEE SA Standards Medallion 2025 is awarded to Mr. Sandeep Kumar Agrawal who is
working as Scientist in C-DOT. The IEEE SA Standards Medallion Award goes to individuals for major
contributions to developing IEEE standards and recognizing leadership in new tech standardization. Mr
Sandeep Agarwal received this award for his exceptional leadership and contributions to the development
of rural broadband standards and solutions.
IEEE SA corporate award was received by Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO, C-DOT at the IEEE SA award
ceremony held in New Jersey. On the momentous occasion he said “it is a proud moment that embodies
the collective passion, dedication, and spirit of the entire C-DOT family. This prestigious awardacknowledges pioneering contributions of our scientists to wireless broadband, rural 5G, telecom

India’s digital foundation”. Being recognised by such a respected world body reinforces C-DOT’s
commitment to advancing open, future-ready standards that empower communities and strengthen digital
ecosystems. C-DOT continues its dedicated effort in placing India on the global map and building an
“Aatmanirbhar Bharat”, as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. The awards underscores C-DOT’s
strong commitment and consistent focus on technology excellence. In his award acceptance speech, he
also thanked Department of Telecommunication (DoT), Government of India for their continued support

C-DOT also celeberated the award with C-DOTians in both Delhi and Bangalore campus.
C-DOT is a research and development centre of Government of India for telecommunication technologies.
C-DOT has been instrumental in developing indigenous technologies supporting government initiatives
like Digital India and Make in India. It is currently working on futuristic technologies like 5G, 6G,
Quantum and Cybersecurity. C-DOT scientists have contributed to the development of multiple standards
at IEEE including P2061-2025 and P2872 standards. They are also contributing towards pre-
standardization activity in the form of “6G Rural Connectivity & Intelligent Village” Industry connection
program. C-DOT scientists have also developed educational course in partnership with IEEE on 5G
technology to help the community learn the technology leading to capacity building.
