The Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai, issued a circular on April 26, 2021, with reference number CR-27/Misc(20)/2020, regarding BSID data capturing of seafarers. To avoid potential COVID-19 exposure, BSID data capturing is suspended, effective Tuesday, April 27, 2021, until further notice. Seafarers with scheduled appointments from April 27, 2021, will be accommodated later without rescheduling or fee repayment upon resumption of BSID data capturing. BSID Data Capturing for seafarers joining from Ports at UK / Brazil, will be continued in accordance with DGS Crew Circular No. 36/2020 with prior appointment by recruiting company / agency. Mercantile Marine Departments, BSID Data capturing of Seafarers is- being suspended
