This Ditectorate has received queries seeking clarification regarding advisory issued vide
'Merchant Shipping Notice - 12 of 2022', regarding vessel(s) transiting or navigating in around
Yemen waters. In this regard following may be noted:
It is hereby clariJied that the Merchant Shipping Notice - 12/2022 does not prevent Indian flag
vessel(s) ir Indian manned vessel(s), from transiting the Red Sea and/or the Bab el-Mandeb
Straits. Hoy,ever, in view o.f the proximity to the yemen waters, all preccrutions necessary under
the circumstances shall he taken, keeping the safety ofthe personnel and vessel as paramount.
