No.F.6/2016-SCA(I).—Consequent upon approval of the Government conveyed vide letter No.
L-11015/3/2015-Jus dated 19th September, 2017 of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice on the rec-
ommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission, the decision of Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India regarding revision
of various allowances in respect of Officers and Employees of Supreme Court of India effective from 1st July, 2017 was
published in the Gazette of India vide Resolution No.248 dated 21st September, 2017.
2. In pursuance of the decision of the Government as conveyed vide para 4 of the letter dated 19th September, 2017
of Department of Justice and in compliance of direction of Hon’ble Chief Justice of India notified vide para 5 of the
Resolution No.248 dated 21st September, 2017, the Deputation (Duty) Allowance for Civilians, Leave Travel Conces-
sion(LTC), Overtime Allowance(OTA) was to be kept in abeyance till orders are issued by DoPT and the Newspaper
Allowance was to be kept in abeyance till orders are issued.
3. The Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions vide their O.M.
No. 31011/8/2017-Estt.A-IV dated 19th September, 2017 and O.M. No.31011/8/2017—Estt.A-IV dated 18th January,
2018 issued instructions for travel entitlements of Government Employees for the purpose of LTC post Seventh Central
Pay Commission. The DoPT vide their Office Memorandum No.2/11/2017-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 24th November, 2017 is-
sued instructions relating to grant of Deputation(Duty) Allowance. The Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance
vide their O.M. No. 25(12)/E. Coord-2018 dated 3rd April, 2018 notified guidelines regarding reimbursement in respect
of Newspapers purchased/supplied to officers at their residence.
4. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, after consideration of the above decision of the Government in case of Cen-
tral Government Employees, has decided that the above instructions/guidelines shall be made applicable to eligible Of-
ficers and Employees of the Supreme Court subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions mentioned therein.
