Official Journal EN of the European Union L series 2024/2644 4.10.2024 DECISION (EU) 2024/2644 OF THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE MEMBER STATES of 2 October 2024 appointing an Advocate-General to the Court of Justice THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE MEMBER STATES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 19 thereof, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Articles 253 and 255 thereof, Whereas: (1) The terms of office of 13 Judges and five Advocates-General of the Court of Justice are due to expire on 6 October 2024. (2) Appointments to those posts should therefore be made for the term of office starting on 7 October 2024 and expiring on 6 October 2030. (3) Decision (EU) 2023/2508 of the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States (1) appointed Mr Giovanni PITRUZZELLA Advocate-General to the Court of Justice for the period from 7 October 2024 to 6 October 2030. Following the resignation of Mr Giovanni PITRUZZELLA, Mr Andrea BIONDI has been nominated for a first term of office as Advocate-General of the Court of Justice. (4) The panel set up by Article 255 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union has given a favourable opinion on the suitability of this candidate to perform the duties of Advocate-General of the Court of Justice, HAVE ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 Mr Andrea BIONDI is hereby appointed Advocate-General to the Court of Justice for the period from 7 October 2024 to 6 October 2030.
