MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 12th June, 2025 S.O. 2565(E).— WHEREAS the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub- section (5) of section 6 and clause (a) of sub-section (6) of section 7 of the Territorial Waters, Continental Shelf, Exclusive Economic Zone and Other Maritime Zones Act, 1976 (80 of 1976), issued a notification declaring certain areas as designated areas published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), vide number S.O. 135(E), dated the 13th January, 2009; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary and expedient in the public interest to amend the said notification; NOW, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (5) of section 6 and clause (a) of sub-section (6) of section 7 of the Territorial Waters, Continental Shelf, Exclusive Economic Zone and Other Maritime Zones Act, 1976, (80 of 1976), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of External Affairs, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), vide number S.O. 135 (E), dated the 13th January, 2009, namely:- In the said notification,- (i) in paragraph 2,- (a) after the word “ship”, the words “including fishing vessels” shall be inserted; (b) for the words “and the Coast Guard Ships”, the words “, the Coast Guard Ships, Marine and Coastal Police Vessels”, shall be substituted; (ii) in paragraph 3, in
