1. Whereas, the Directorate issued DGS Circular No. l3 of 2023 dated 01.06.2023
allowing admission to those foreign students who have qualified any of the below
mentioned examinations for admission into Pre-Sea courses are;
l. Indian Marine University Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET) conducted by IMII
ll Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Main)conducted by National Testing Agency
(NrA)
ll1. Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA
iv. Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) examination conducted by the College Board
IELTS (lnternational English Language Testing System)

2. Whereas, the Directorate has received few representations fiom stake holders regarding
different syllabus and exam pattern of above-mentioned exams. Further, cut-off/qualifying
marks for foreign candidates is also under discussion.
3. In view of the above, the Directorate has revisited the issued Circular and decided that
DGS cilcular 13 of 2023 is hereby kept in abeyance till further orders.
