Posted On: 18 SEP 2026 3:43PM by PIB Delhi To strengthen voluntarism and collective action for Swachhata, a fortnight for Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, 2026 (SHS 2026) is being observed in the Department of Justice from 17th September, 2026 to 2nd October, 2026 under the theme of this Year ''Swachhta Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bhart”

2. Key focus area of SHS-2026 campaign and action proposed by the Department of Justice are: - Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs)-Shramdaan Activities: Focused on overall cleanliness in Department of Justice at Jaisalmer House, Mansingh Road, New Delhi.

Jan Bhagidari for Swachhata: General cleanliness of rooms/ sections/ corridors/ canteen area/ washrooms, etc. on daily basis and a tree plantation drive under "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam".

Swachhata Se Samriddhi: Auction of unserviceable items will be taken up to free up space for better utilization.

Safai Mitra Suraksha Evam Samman Shivir: As a welfare measure for Safai Mitras, Department of Justice plans to provide Swachhata kits and incentives to House Keeping Staff (HKS) / Safai Mitras during the campaign.

3. Department of Justice will join in nationwide one-hour shramdaan event proposed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs [MoHUA] and Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation [DDWS] “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” on 01.10.2026.

4. As a part of celebration of SHS- 2026 campaign, Secretary, Department of Justice administered Oath on ‘Swachhata”, to the officials of the Department on 17th September, 2026 at 10:30AM.5. During the Campaign period officers and Staff of the Department will perform “Shramdaan” involving deep cleaning of the building of the Jaisalmer House complex. Beside this, inter-alia unclogging of Sewerage system, beautification of the area by painting plant pots, deep cleaning of all staircases, fixing all loose wires, cleaning of upholstery, deep cleaning of all pathways, working space and arranging records are also planned.
