ln exercise of the powers of conferred by Rule 25 of the Merchant Shipping
(Conditions for Carriage of Livestock) Rules, 2020, notified vide G.S.R. 453 (E)
dated 17.07.2020, the Director General of Shipping hereby directs that the power,
authority or jurisdiction exercisable by the Director General of Shipping under said
Rules shall also be exercisable by the Principal Officer-cum-Joint DG (Tech) in
charge of respective Mercantile Marine Departments at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata,
Kochi and Kandla.
Provided that the power, authority or jurisdiction exercisable by the Director
General of Shipping under Sub-Rule (2) of Rule 6, Rule 7 and Rule 25 shall not be
exercised by the Principal Officers.
Provided further that the power, authority or jurisdiction exercisable by the
Director General of Shipping under Rule 7 shall also be exercised by the Nautical
Advisor, DG Shipping at the Headquarters.

Further, in exercise of power conferred by Rule 25 read with sub-clause (b)
of clause (1) of Rule 2 of the said Rules, the Director General of Shipping hereby
directs that the officers mentioned in the list given below shall act as authorised
officer for the purpose of the said Rules, namely,
