On January 02, 2026, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) extended the Directions issued under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, applicable to co-operative societies, for The Industrial Co-operative Bank Ltd., Guwahati. The RBI, via Directive No.GWH.DOS.ADM.No.S103/01-10-101/2025-26 dated July 03, 2025, originally issued directions for six months up to the close of business on January 04, 2026. Due to public interest, the RBI extends the directions for an additional three months, from January 04, 2026, to the close of business on April 04, 2026, subject to review. All other terms and conditions of the original directive remain unchanged.

Act, 1949 (As Applicable to Co-operative Societies) – The Industrial
Co-operative Bank Ltd., Guwahati – Extension of period
The Reserve Bank of India issued Directions under Section 35A read with Section
56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to The Industrial Co-operative Bank Ltd.,
Guwahati vide Directive No.GWH.DOS.ADM.No.S103/01-10-101/2025-26 dated July
03, 2025 for a period of six months up to close of business on January 04, 2026. The
Reserve Bank of India is satisfied that in the public interest, it is necessary to further
extend the period of operation of the Directive beyond close of business on January
04, 2026.
2. Accordingly, the Reserve Bank of India, in exercise of powers vested in it under
sub-section (1) of Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act,
1949, hereby extends the Directions for a further period of three months from the close
of business on January 04, 2026 to the close of business on April 04, 2026, subject to
review.
3. All other terms and conditions of the Directive under reference shall remain
unchanged.
