PR No.17/2026 Dr. Sadanand S. Date takes charge as Executive Director, SEBI Dr. Sadanand Date took charge as Executive Director, Securities and Exchange Board of India in Mumbai on March 4, 2026. He will handle Investigations Department in SEBI. Dr. Sadanand Date, is an IPS officer of 2007 batch from Uttarakhand Cadre. Prior to being appointed as Executive Director, he was on Central Deputation to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and served in various capacities as SP ACB / BSFC and as Head of Branch of Economic Offences Branch, Special Crime Branch, Special Task Branch and Anti-Corruption Branch at CBI Mumbai. He has also held various leadership roles at Uttarkhand Police and served as SP/ Sr. Superintendent of Police at Uttarkashi, Nainital, Haridwar, Udhamsingh Nagar and Dehradun districts. He has also served briefly as IG Headquarters/ Director Traffic at Uttarakhand Police, before joining SEBI. Dr. Sadanand Date is medical graduate and holds MBBS degree from Grant Medical College & JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. He also holds Master’s Degree in Police Management (MDPM) from Osmania University as well as degrees of MA (Economics), LLB and LLM from Mumbai University.
