Ms. No. 101, Environment, Climate Change and Forest (FR.1), 20th June 2025, ஆனி 6, விசுவாாவாசு, திருவாள்ளுவார் ஆண்டு-2056.] No. SRO B-29/2025.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the Proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Forest Service [Section 15, Volume II of the Tamil Nadu State Services Manual, 2016]. 2. (1) The amendments (1), (2) and (4) hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on and from the 11th August, 2014. (2) The amendment (3) hereby made shall be deemed to have come into force on and from the 11th May, 2018. Amendments In the said Special Rules, (1) in rule 1, after category 3, the following category shall be added, namely:- “Category 4 Head Draughting Officer”; (2) in rule 2, in sub - rule (a), in the tabular column, after the entry “Assistant Director of Statistics” in column (1) and the corresponding entries in column (2) thereof, the following entries shall be added, respectively, namely:- “Head Draughting Officer” - “recruitment by transfer from among the holders of the post of Special Grade Draughting Officer in the Tamil Nadu Forest Subordinate Service.”; (3) in rule 4, after sub-rule (4), the following sub-rule shall be added, namely:- “(5) No person shall be eligible for appointment to the post of Head Draughting Officer unless he has passed the following departmental tests, namely:- 1. Forest Law and Forest Revenue; 2. Tamil Nadu Forest Department Code and Accounts; 3. Fundamental Rules of Tamil Nadu Government, Tamil Nadu State Service Rules etc., 4. Accounts Test for Subordinate Officers Part I and Part II (or) The Accounts Test for Executive Officers.”; (4) in rule 5, in sub-rule (4),- (a) after the expression “Assistant Director of Statistics”, the expression “and Head Draughting Officer” shall be inserted; and (b) for the expression “Chief conservator of Forests”, the expression “Principal Chief conservator of Forests” shall be substituted.
