The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, through Notification S.O. 5586 (E), dated December 2, 2025, notifies the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Kannur 670002, as an Examiner of Electronic Evidence within India. This is done in exercise of the powers conferred by section 79A of the Information Technology Act 2000 (21 of 2000).
The scope of examination includes:
(a) Computer (Media) Forensics
(b) Mobile Devices Forensics.
Reference number for the notification is F.No. 7(3)/2023- Cyber Security. Shri K. K. Singh, Joint Secretary, issued the notification.
