III (LA) dated the 21st February, 2020, the sanction of the President is hereby accorded for extension of the term of the Twenty-second Law Commission of India upto 31st August, 2024 consisting of the following, namely,- (i) a full-time Chairperson; (ii) four full-time Members (including Member-Secretary); (iii) Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs as ex officio Member; (iv) Secretary, Legislative Department as ex officio Member; and (v) not more than five part-time Members. 2. As regards the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25, the expenditure will be met from the corresponding Budgetary Grants that may be voted by the Parliament for the respective years. 5. This aforesaid expenditure has the concurrence of the Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure), vide their OM No. 3(44)E.Coord./2018 dated 16th February, 2023 and the approval of the Cabinet, vide their communication No.7/CM/2023 dated 22nd February, 2023.
