Extension of timeline for implementation of provisions of circular SEBI/HO/OIAE/IGRD/CIR/P/2023/156 dated September 20, 2023 on Redressal of investor grievances through the SEBI Complaint Redressal (SCORES) Platform and linking it to Online Dispute Resolution platform.
**Summary:**
This circular, SEBI/HO/OIAE/IGR/CIR/P/2023/183, issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on December 1, 2023, announces an extension to the implementation timeline for provisions outlined in circular SEBI/HO/OIAE/IGR/CIR/P/2023/156 dated September 20, 2023. The original circular addressed the redressal of investor grievances through the SEBI Complaint Redressal (SCORES) platform and its linkage to the Online Dispute Resolution platform.
Specifically, the provisions related to the workflow of processing investor grievances by entities and the framework for monitoring and handling complaints by Designated Bodies, initially slated to take effect on December 4, 2023, will now be implemented from April 1, 2024. The deadline for Designated Bodies to apply for SCORES Authentication and/or API integration has also been extended to align with the new implementation date.
Consequently, circular SEBI/HO/OIAE/IGR/CIR/P/2023/156 dated September 20, 2023, will rescind the Master Circular SEBI/HO/AE/IGR/DP/CIR/2022/0150 dated November 7, 2022, regarding SCORES, with effect from April 1, 2024.
Entities are still required to submit the Action Taken Report (ATR) on SCORES within 21 calendar days of receiving a complaint, as directed in the September 20, 2023 circular.
This circular is issued under Section 11(1) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, to protect investor interests, promote market development, and regulate the securities market.
