Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India, Mumbai, issued Engineering Circular No. 137 of 2017, dated 02.05.2017, regarding forwarding of MEO Class – I and MEO Class – II results, reference File No:- ENG/EXAM-CIRC-25(01)/2017, IS/ISO Clause No. 7.5.
The Directorate will utilise e-governance for expediting result approvals and reducing paper use. MEO Class I and II written and oral exams are conducted at MMDs. Results are verified against 37 BC forms, and consolidated into result sheets 1 and 2. Previously, Examiners of Engineers forwarded two copies of result sheets 1 and 2, along with 37 BC forms, to the Directorate. The Directorate verified these and uploaded the signed copy to the DGS website, sending a copy to the MMD.
The Competent Authority discontinued forwarding hard copies of MEO Class I and II examination results from MMDs to the Directorate, as the processes are online. MMDs now only need to send copies of 37 BC forms of written and oral examinations to the Directorate.
MMDs must forward online results after verifying marks to the Directorate. The Directorate approves the results online, prints, and signs a copy, which is then uploaded to the DGS website. This procedure applies from June 2017.
