Education प्रव तथ: 13 AUG 2026 6:46PM by PIB Delhi Access to quality higher education can play an important role in helping students pursue their aspirations and build better opportunities for the future. However, for students from families with limited incomes, financial difficulties can become a major challenge in meeting tuition and living expenses. Demonstrating how scholarship assistance can help students overcome economic barriers, Prince Yadav, a 19-year-old student belonging to the Other Backward Class (OBC) category, is pursuing his B.Tech education at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal. Coming from a family whose primary source of income is agriculture, he faced significant financial difficulties in meeting the costs of tuition and living expenses in Bhopal. Despite these challenges, Prince remained determined to become a successful engineer and contribute to technological advancements that can help make India self-reliant in technology, while also improving his family's financial situation. In 2025-26, financial assistance of ₹1,15,400 was provided to Prince under the PM YASASVI Scholarship. The support helped meet his tuition and hostel-related expenses, significantly reducing the financial burden on his family.
