Functional Cooperative Societies

Ministry of Cooperation Functional Cooperative Societies Posted On: 06 AUG 2025 6:00PM by PIB Delhi As per the National Cooperative Database (NCD), there are a total of 8.37 lakh cooperative societies across the country. The State-wise number of cooperative societies, as of 31.03.2025, is attached as Annexure-I. Out of the total 8.37 lakh cooperative societies, there are 6.45 lakh functional cooperative societies across the country, comprising more than 31 crore members. The state-wise number of functional cooperative Societies and their members is attached as Annexure-II. As per National Cooperative Database (NCD), there are 32,020 cooperative Societies in West Bengal across 30 sectors, including farmers’ cooperative societies such as ‘Agriculture & Allied Cooperative’, ‘Agro Processing / Industrial Cooperative’, ‘Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS)’, among others. The sector-wise number of cooperative societies in West Bengal, as of 31.03.2025, is attached as Annexure-III. The details of funds allocated to West Bengal by Ministry of Cooperation for Computerization of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies (PACS) project is given in Annexure-IV. The details of activity wise financial grant disbursed by National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), in the state of West Bengal, in last five years, is attached as Annexure-V. ****** State-wise number of cooperative societies S.
