NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India read with the sub-section (1) of Section 29 and sub-section (1) of

Section 72 and Section 326 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965 (Act No.6 of

1965) as amended from time to time and of all other powers hereunto enabling, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Service Rules issued in G.O.Ms.No.109, Housing, Municipal Administration & Urban Development (L1) (MA) Department, dated

17.02.1990, as subsequently amended from time to time.

The Notification shall be deemed to have come into force with effect on and from

24.07.2026.

AMENDMENTS In the said Rules,-

(1) For Rule 6, the following shall be substituted, namely: "6. Minimum Service for Promotion / Appointment by Transfer: No member of the service shall be eligible for promotion or appointment by transfer from a lower category to the next higher category unless he/she has put in not less than two (2) years of service in such lower category."

(2) In Rule 10, for the existing Table thereunder, the following Table shall be substituted, namely: (P.T.O)//2// TABLE Category Post Unit of Appointment

(1) (2) (3) V Municipal Multi-Zone.

Commissioner, Multi Zone-I: Comprising of Zone-I, Zone-II Grade-I and Zone-III.

VI Municipal Commissioner, Multi Zone-II: Comprising of Zone-IV, Zone-V Grade-II and Zone-VI.

Note 1: The Unit of Appointment specified in Column (3) of the Table above shall constitute a separate unit for the purposes of appointment, recruitment, discharge, seniority, promotion, transfer and other service matters in terms of Paragraph 5(1) of the Presidential Order, 2025.

Note 2: The extent of reservation in favour of local candidates in direct recruitment to the categories of posts to be filled by direct recruitment shall be ninety-five percent (95%), as specified in the Presidential Order,
