Whereas it appears to the appropriate Government the lands is required in Ammapettai including Sevan
Village of Srirangam Taluk in Tiruchirappalli District for public purpose, Namely Cauvery - Vaigai - Gundar Canal
Scheme and has given administrative sanction. Scheme being an Irrigation project for formation of flood carrier
canal from Cauvery (Kattalai)- Agniyaru - South Vellar-Vaigai-Gundaru river for diversion of flood water to drought
prone areas, Government as per G.O.(2D) No.40, Public Works (N2) dept., dated:09.07.2020, has appointed
‘WAPCOS” agency to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment study under section 3(3) of the Environmental
protection Act 1986. Report is awaited. As Environmental Impact Assessment study is to be carried out for this
irrigation project, Social Impact Assessment shall not apply according to the provision of Section 6(2) of Right
to Fair Compensation, and Transparency in land Acquistion, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013. No family
is displaced due to the Land Acquisition. Sub Collector /Revenue Divisional Officer, Srirangam is appointed as
administrator for the purpose of Rehabilitation and Resettlement. Therefore, it is notified that for the above said
project, in Thoraikudi Village, Srirangam Taluk in Tiruchirappalli District, Additional Land measuring an extent of
6.03.15 hectares of dry land, details of which are specified in the schedule below, is under acquisition.3

“This notification is made under sub-section (1) of Section 11 of the Right of Fair Compensation and Transparency
in Land acquisition, Rehabilitation and resettlement Act, 2013 (Central Act 30 of 2013), to all whom it may concern.
A plan of the land may be inspected in the office of the Collector, Tiruchirappalli and office of Land Acquisition
Officer/ District Revenue Officer,Tiruchirappalli on any working day during the working hours. The Government is
pleased to authorize the requiring department Executive Engineer, PWD (WRO) Tiruchirappalli and his staff to
enter upon a survey land, take levels of any land, dig or bore into the sub-soil and do all other Acts required
for the proper execution of their works as provided and specified in Section 12 of the said Act.
Under sub-section (4) of Section 11 of the said Act, no person shall make any transaction or cause any
transaction of land i.e. sale/purchase, etc or create any encumbrances on such land from the date of publication
of this notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette without prior approval of the Collector.
Objections to the acquisition, if any may be filed by the person interested within 60(Sixty) days from the
date of publication of this notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette as provided under Section 15 of
the said Act before the Collector.”
