Delhi, the 8th June, 2020
F.No.18/191/2015-HG/1840-1853.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 71 of the Delhi Prison
Act,2000 ( Delhi Act 2 of 2002), the Government of National Capital of Territory of Delhi, as per approval of
Hon’ble Minister (Home), makes the following Rules to amend the Delhi Prisons Rules, 2018, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement:- (1) These Rules may be called the Delhi Prisons(Amendment) Rules, 2020.
(2) They shall be come into force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette.
2. Amendment of Rule 1257 d:- In the Delhi Prisons Rules, 2018, after Rule 1257 d, the following Proviso shall be
added namely:-
“Provided that the rejected cases can be considered prior to the expiry of a period of six months, if the Chairman of
the Sentence Review Board so decides, keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case.”
