Delhi, the 16th June, 2020
No. F.18/71/2019-(HG)/1897-1905.—In the exercise of the powers conferred by section 71 of the Delhi Prison
Act, 2000 ( Delhi Act 2 of 2002), the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, as per approval of Hon’ble
Minister (Home), makes the following rules to amend the Delhi Prisons Rules, 2018, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement: - (1) These rules may be called the Delhi Prisons (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2020.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette.
2. Amendment of Rule 1223 (I):- In the Delhi Prisons Rules, 2018, for sub rule (I) of rule 1223, the following shall
be substituted, namely:-
“I. “Good conduct in the prison and should have earned rewards in last 3 Annual Good Conduct Remission and
continues to maintain good conduct.”
