The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) successfully held its 39th
Convocation on April 7, 2026, at its Headquarters in New Delhi, where degrees and
diplomas were awarded to 3,24,835 learners worldwide.
On the occasion, Prof. Uma Kanjilal, Vice Chancellor, presented the report, while the
Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, attended as Chief Guest
and delivered the Convocation Address.
The Convocation was conducted simultaneously across 55 Regional Centres,
including Nagpur. At IGNOU Regional Centre Nagpur, the ceremony was held at
SHALOM Auditorium, Hislop College, Civil Lines, Nagpur.
Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, attended as Guest of Honour and
delivered the Regional Convocation Address. He congratulated the learners and
highlighted IGNOU’s contributions to societal development, noting the benefits of its
programmes for students in Vidarbha and Marathwada. He also observed that India
