GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1523 ANSWERED ON 31.07.2026 IMPLEMENTATION OF PLI SCHEME FOR AUTOMOBILE AND AUTO COMPONENTS IN ANDHRA PRADESH 1523. SHRI VIJAY CHINTAKAYALA: Will the Minister of Heavy Industries be pleased to state: (a) the current status of implementation of the PLI scheme for automobile and auto components, and the number of approved OEM/component companies with manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh; (b) the investment, production, and employment generated under the Scheme as of May 2026, with State-wise/Andhra Pradesh-specific figures; (c) whether the scheme has aided localisation of advanced automotive technologies/components in Andhra Pradesh; (d) the progress achieved, including EV/component manufacturing progress in Andhra Pradesh, sector-wise; and (e) if so, the details thereof, including any proposals to expand PLI-linked investment in the State? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA) (a) & (b): Government approved the PLI Scheme for Automobile and Auto Component Industry in India (PLI-Auto scheme) with a budgetary outlay of Rs. 25,938 crore for enhancing India’s manufacturing capabilities for Advanced Automotive Products (AAT) on 23.09.2021. The status of implementation of PLI-Auto scheme across all states (incl Andhra Pradesh) is as below:- Parameter Cumulative till 31.03.2026 Investment (Rs. cr) 44,326 Incremental Sales (Base Year FY2019-20) (Rs. cr) 52,414 Employment generated (Nos.) 67,820 Incentive disbursed (Rs. cr) 2,386.36 PLI-Auto scheme is implemented on pan India basis and approved applicants are free to set up units or make investment anywhere in the country. As on 28.07.2026, two manufacturing units have been set up by approved OEM applicants in Andhra Pradesh. (c) to (e): To boost domestic manufacturing and localisation of AAT products, PLI-Auto scheme mandates minimum Domestic Value Addition (DVA) of 50% for availing incentives. As on 28.07.2026, 18 applicants have received DVA certificates for 155 AAT products/variants manufactured across the country (including Andhra Pradesh). *****
