F.No. 47/Policy/06/2020/179.—In exercise of powers conferred by section 127 of the Delhi Co-operative
Societies Act, 2003 (Delhi Act 3 of 2004) and in continuation to notification no. F.No. 47/Policy/06/2020/79-88 dated
25.06.2020 read with corrigendum dated 09.07.2020, the Lieutenant Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi
keeping in view various guidelines and restrictions which remained/remain in force on account of Covid-19 situation
and also that notification No. F. No. 47/Policy/06/2020/59-68 dated 25.06.2020 read with corrigendum dated
09.07.2020 stipulated that GBM of members of the society can be convened between 20th November and 31st
December, 2020 and under the prevailing condition it would not be expedient to hold separate GBMs for election and
u/s 31 of the Act, hereby order that the provisions relating to election and also the term of office of elected members
of the committee as contained in Section 35 of Delhi Co-operative Societies Act, 2003 shall be modified as under:-
“In the case of cooperative societies, other than housing cooperative societies, whose membership exceeds
One Thousand and where the election for constituting the new committees of the societies could not be
conducted so far, the existing committees shall arrange election of the new committee alongwith their AGM
to be held between 20/11/2020 and 31/12/2020. The tenure of the existing Committees of these societies
would accordingly stand extended till the election of the new committees.”

relating to the question whether dispute referred to the Registrar under section 70 of Delhi Co-operative Societies Act,
2003 is or is not a dispute touching the constitution, management or the business of the cooperative society which are
pending decision; shall now be decided by 30th November, 2020.
