New Delhi, the 1st December, 2018
No. F.34/2018-SCA(I).—In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (2) of Article 146 of the Constitution,
the Chief Justice of India, with the approval of the President, hereby makes the following Rules effecting the revision of
pay scales of the concerned categories of Departmental Canteen staff on the establishment of the Supreme Court of
India:-
1. Short title and commencement :-
(1) These Rules shall be called “The Supreme Court Departmental Canteen Employees (Revised Pay)
Rules, 2015”.
(2) These Rules shall be deemed to have come into force at once.
2. Definitions :- In these Rules unless the context otherwise requires -
(a) Existing Pay Band and Grade Pay means the Pay Band and Grade Pay applicable to concerned Canteen
employee of the Supreme Court specified at Column III & IV of the Schedule.
(b) 'Revised Pay Band and Grade Pay' with reference to any of the concerned Canteen Staff of the Supreme Court
means the Pay Band and Grade Pay mentioned in Column V & VI of the Schedule.
(c) 'Schedule' means the Schedule appended to these Rules.
3. Revision of Grade Pay/Pay Band :-
The existing Pay Band and Grade Pay in respect of Canteen Staff of the Supreme Court in categories
shown at S.Nos. 1 to 9 (Column II) of the Schedule shall stand revised as indicated in Columns V and VI of the
said Schedule with effect from 1.1.2006.

4. Allowances including Washing Allowances
All Allowances including washing allowance to which a canteen employee is entitled to in addition to
pay shall be at the same rate and in accordance with the rules or orders as are applicable to the Court Servants
placed in the corresponding scales of pay.
5. Fixation of Pay in the revised Pay Band/Grade Pay
(i) The pay of the employees of the Supreme Court Departmental Canteen in the categories as mentioned at
S.Nos. 1 to 9 (Column II) in the Schedule shall be fixed on notional basis with effect from 1.1.2006 in the
Pay Band and Grade Pay shown in Column V and VI and the actual benefit shall be admissible with
effect from 21.1.2015.
(ii) The fixation of pay of Canteen Employees in the revised Pay Band and Grade Pay effective from
1.1.2006 shall be made in accordance with the procedure prescribed for fixation of pay in terms of
Supreme Court Resolution No.34/2008-SCA(I) dated 13th September, 2008 read with CCS (Revised
Pay) Rules, 2008.
6. Provision regarding arrears of Pay and Allowances
The payment of arrears shall be made to the concerned categories of canteen employees of the Supreme
Court in the manner indicated in Supreme Court's Resolution No.34/2008-SCA(I) dated 13th September, 2008
read with CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008.
7. Removal of difficulties :-
If any difficulty or question arises in the implementation of these Rules, the decision of the Hon'ble the
Chief Justice of India on such matter, shall be final.
