In exercise of the powers conferred by clause a of Sub Section 3 of Section 5 read with clause c of Sub Section 1 of Section 6 of the University Grants Commission
This notification, S.O. 1018(E), issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, on March 7, 2018, announces the appointment of Shri R. Subrahmanyam, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, as a Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC). This appointment is made by the Central Government, exercising powers conferred by clause (a) of Sub-Section (3) of Section 5, read with clause (c) of Sub-Section (1) of Section 6 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956). Shri Subrahmanyam's membership will continue until further orders or until he no longer occupies the post of Secretary, Department of Higher Education, whichever occurs first. He replaces Shri Kewal Kumar Sharma. The notification was issued under F. No. 712018-U1A by Jt. Secy. Ishita Roy.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, 7th March, 2018
S.O. 1018(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of Sub-Section (3) of
Section 5 read with clause (c) of Sub-Section (1) of Section 6 of the University Grants Commission
Act, 1956 (3 of 1956), the Central Government hereby appoints Shri R. Subrahmanyam, Secretary,
Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Human Resource Development as Member of the
University Grants Commission until further orders or till such time Shri R. Subrahmanyam occupies
the post of Secretary, Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Human Resource
Development, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Kewal Kumar Sharma.
