New Delhi, the 6th December, 2019
No. 14-1/2017-PCI(Pt I).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of
1948), the Pharmacy Council of India, with the approval of the Central Government, hereby makes the following
regulations further to amend the Pharmacy Council of India Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Pharmacy
Colleges, 2012, namely:-
1. (1) These regulations may be called the Pharmacy Council of India (Amendment) Regulations on Curbing the
Menace of Ragging in Pharmacy Colleges, 2019.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Pharmacy Council of India Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Pharmacy Colleges, 2012, in
regulation 3, after clause (i), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
“(j) any act of physical or mental abuse (including bullying and exclusion) targeted at another student (fresher or
otherwise) on the ground of colour, race, religion, caste, ethnicity, gender (including transgender), sexual
orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins, linguistic identity, place of birth, place of residence or
economic background.”
