Location. Extent of No. of trees required Compensatory plantation Area (ha.) to be removed/ required (No. of trees). Transplant. Improvement of T-Junction near (i) 14.433 233 Dhaula Kuan Metro Station for (approx of non- Widening of National Highway from Morphological Dhaula Kuan up to end of Junction on ridge area). NH-8 and improvement of T-Junction 11630 near Defence Area including widening of National Highway upto (ii)12.28 Defence area on NH-8, New Delhi. (Morphological ridge area 930 Total 26.713 1163 11630 The said exemption is subject to fulfillment of the following conditions:- (a) The applicant shall make an advance deposit of an amount of Rs. 6,62,91,000 /- (Rupees Six Crore Sixty Two Lakh Ninety One Thousand Only) towards security deposit for creation and maintenance of compensatory plantation for a period of Seven years as follows: Project Location of Compensatory Number of Total Amount To be No. Afforestation plantation saplings to be including other Deposited planted (Number Administrative with Forest of trees) expenses and Division contingency charges (in Rs.) 1. 100% (11630) no. by the West Deputy Forest Division on behalf of User Conservator Agency i.e NHAI over 11.63 ha. 11630 6,62,91,000 /- of Forests (approx) area from out of the total (West)/ 21.52 ha. Land allotted by DDA at Tree Officer Shastri Park Metro Station, River Yamuna and Old Iron Bridge for compensatory plantation of 11630 saplings under DPTA, 1994. (b) The compensatory plantation as shown below will be raised and maintained for Seven years and monitored till its successful establishment:- (ii) 11630 Nos. by the West Forest Division on behalf of User Agency i.e NHAI over 11.63 ha. (approx) area from out of the total 21.52 ha. Land at Shastri Park Metro Station, River Yamuna and Old Iron Bridge allotted by DDA vide letter No. F.32(19)/17/IL/4654 dated 06/11/2017. (c) The felling of 930 trees in project area of 12.28 ha. falling inside morphological ridge is granted approved by CEC/ Hon’ble Supreme Court as it is a single project consisting morphological ridge as well as non- morphological ridge and against which compensatory plantation of 9300 trees will be done in 9.3 ha. approx. out of total project area of 21.52 ha. allotted by DDA vide (b) above.4 DELHI GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY PART IV] (d) The permission for remaining 233 trees in non-Morphological Ridge is being issued as per approval of Govt. against which compensatory plantation of 2330 trees in 2.33 ha. area approx out of the total area of 21.52 ha. allotted by DDA vide (b) above. (e) The NHAI shall deposit 5% of the project cost proportionate to the morphological ridge area with RMB fund together with cost of raising 21,500 plants including chain link fencing over the total compensatory plantation land of 21.52 ha. in advance with Forest Department of Govt. of NCT of Delhi. In this connection Deputy Conservator of Forests (West) letter No. F.97/WFD/COT/17-18/PART-II/552-54 dated 07.05.2018 may also be referred. (f) The felling approval of another 979 trees falling in non-morphological ridge has already been issued to NHAI earlier out of the total 2142 trees in the project area vide notification No. F.97/WFD/COT/17-18/8075-83 dated 25.01.2018 and against which a compensatory plantation of 9790 has been directed in the total area of 21.52 ha. allotted by DDA vide (b) above against the said project. (g) The timber obtained from felling/ transplanting of 1163 trees shall be auctioned by the land owning agency and deposit the proceeds as revenue to the government. (h) The lops and tops obtained on removal of firewood species of trees shall be handed over by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to the officials concerned of MCD for use in public crematoria of Delhi as firewood, free of cost. (i) Before shifting of wood if any, from site of removal of trees, transportation permission for transportation of the said wood shall be obtained from Tree Officer (West).
