No. 2(97)DCF(W)/2016-17/5727-35.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 29 of the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994 (Delhi Act 11 of 1994), the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, hereby, in public interest exempts an area of total 20.83 ha. (approx.) as detailed below for construction of National Institute of Technology, Campus Narela, New Delhi from the provision of sub-section (3) of section 9 of the said Act. Forest land in Mukhmelpur, 390 Tree Officer Pocket-B (50%). b) The compensatory plantation will be raised and maintained for Seven years and monitored till its successful establishment in following manner:— (i) 390 numbers by Project proponent as per site indicated above; (ii) 390 numbers by the Forest Deptt. in the Mukhmelpur Pocket-B, New Delhi. c) The timber obtained from felling of 78 trees shall be auctioned by the land owning agency and the proceeds as revenue shall be deposited in the account of Deputy Conservator of Forests (West). d) The firewood, if any, obtained on removal of firewood species of trees shall be handed over by the National Institute of Technology, Campus Narela to the officials concerned of Municipal Corporation of Delhi for its use on public crematoria in Delhi in consultation with the territorial Deputy Conservator of Forests, if applicable. e) The transportation permission for the said wood shall be obtained from Tree Officer (West) By Order and in the Name of the Lt.
