F.No. R. 406/TO(S)/TC-Felling/2017-18/5444-52.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 29 of the
Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994 (Delhi Act 11 of 1994), the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi,
hereby, in public interest exempts an area of total 17.30 ha. (approx.) as detailed below for construction work of
National War Memorial in ‘C’ Hexagon near India Gate, New Delhi from the provision of sub-section (3) of section 9

The said exemption is subject to fulfillment of the following conditions:-.
a) The applicant viz National War Memorial & Museum shall make an advance deposit of an amount of Rs.
12,54,000 /- (Rupees Twelve Lakh Fifty Four Thousand only) towards security deposit for creation and

(i) 220 numbers by Project proponent as per design and architecture of the proposal construction at the same
site as indicated in the proposal submitted to DCF (South).
c) The timber obtained from felling of 22 trees shall be auctioned by the land owning agency and the proceeds
shall be deposited as revenue to the Government.
d) The lops and tops obtained on removal of trees shall be handed over by the National War Memorial & Museum
to the officials concerned of Municipal Corporation of Delhi for its use in public crematoria of Delhi free of
cost and receipt so obtained may be deposited with DCF (South).
e) Before shifting of timber if any, from site of removal of trees, transportation permission for transportation of
the said wood shall be obtained from Tree Officer (South).
f) The other 03 trees in the area will not be harmed in any manner.
