NOTIFICATION
Delhi, the 14th February, 2017
F. No. 61(469)/DCPCR Amend./DD(CPU)/DWCD/2012/37156-67.— In exercise of the powers conferred by
section 36 of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act 2005 (4 of 2006), read with the Government of India,
Ministry of Home Affair Notification F. No U-11030/1/2007/ – UTL dated the 15th January, 2008, the Lieutenant
Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to amend the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child
Rights Rules, 2008 as following, namely :-
Short title and Commencement :-
1. (i) These rules may be called the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (Amendment) Rules,
2017.
(ii) They shall come into force on and from the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette.
2. Amendment of rule 4.— In the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Rules 2008 (hereinafter referred
as principal Rules), for rule 4, the following shall be substituted, namely :-
“4. Eligibility for appointment of Chairperson and other Members :-
(1) No person having any past record of violation of human rights or child rights shall be eligible for
appointment as Chairperson or other Member of the Commission.
(2) A person to be selected as a Chairperson or Member of the Commission shall have at least five years
experience in Social Sector like Education, Health, Social Welfare.”
3. Amendment of rule 9 .— In the principal Rules, for rule 9 the following shall be substituted, namely :-
“9 Salaries and allowances - last pay drawn minus pension plus allowances admissible, the officer shall draw
his pension separately, but no dearness relief on pension shall be payable during his tenure in the Commission”.
4. Amendment of rule 17 - In the principal Rule, for rule 17 the following shall be substituted, namely :-
“17 Status - The Chairperson / Member shall be treated at par with Joint Secretary to Government of India/
Secretary to Government of Delhi.”
