Short Title and Commencement:¹Hkkx IIIµ[k.M 3(iv)º Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3 (i) These Regulations shall be called the Food Corporation of India (Staff) (third Amendment) Regulations, 2017. (ii) These shall come into force from the date of Notification in the Official Gazette. 2. Definitions: The definition and meaning of the words and designation of posts in this Regulation shall have the same meaning as contained in the Food Corporations Act, 1964 and the Food Corporation of India (Staff) Regulations, 1971. 3. The following amendments are made in Regulation 66 (5) of the Food Corporation of India (Staff) Regulations, 1971 by replacing the existing Regulations 66(5) (a) (b) (d) :- • (5) (a) An order of suspension made or deemed to have been made under this Regulation shall continue to remain in force until it is modified or revoked by the authority competent to do so. • (5) (b) Where an employee is suspended or is deemed to have been suspended (whether in connection with any disciplinary proceedings or otherwise), and any other disciplinary proceedings is commenced against him during the continuance of that suspension, the authority competent to place him under suspension may for reasons to be recorded by him in writing, direct that the employee shall continue to be under suspension. • (5) (d) An order of suspension made or deemed to have been made under this Regulation shall be reviewed by the authority which is competent to modify or revoke the suspension before expiry of 90 days from the effective date of suspension on the recommendation of the Review committee constituted for the purpose and pass reasoned order either extending or revoking the suspension. Subsequent reviews shall be made before expiry of the extended period of suspension. Extension of suspension shall not be for a period exceeding 180 days at a time. Provided further that an order of suspension issued under this regulation shall not extend beyond three months if within this period the Memorandum of charges / chargesheet is not issued to the delinquent.
