Delhi, the 26th October, 2020
No. F.4(1)/RR/LB/2017/CD-000437441/2229-38.— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 98 read
with sub-section (2) of section 480 and sub-section (3) of section 484A of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957
(66 of 1957) and the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Notification Number S.O. 3159 dated the 19th
October, 1966, the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to make the following
recruitment rules for regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Chaudhary in North, South and East Delhi
Municipal Corporations, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement.–(1)These regulations may be called Chaudhary
Recruitment Rules, 2020.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette.
2. Number of posts, classification and Level in Pay Matrix.-The number of the said posts, their
classification and Level in Pay Matrix attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the
Schedule annexed to these regulations.
3. Method of recruitment, age-limit, qualification etc.-Method of recruitment, age-limit,
qualifications and other matters relating to the said posts, shall be as specified in columns (5) to (13) of the
said Schedule.
4. Disqualification. – No person, -
(a) Who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or4 DELHI GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY PART IV]
(b) Who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted marriage with any person;
shall be eligible for appointment to the said post :
Provided that Government, may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law
applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing,
exempt any person from the operation of this regulation.
5. Power to relax. – Where the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi is of the opinion
that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may, by order, for reasons to be recorded in writing and with the
prior approval of the Government, relax any of the provisions of these regulations with respect to any class or
category of persons or posts.
6. Saving. – Nothing in these regulations shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other
concessions required to be provided for candidates of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Ex-Servicemen
and other special categories of persons, in accordance with the orders issued by the Government of India
from time to time, in this regard.
