sub-section (2) of Section 54 read with Section 23(2)(a) of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other
Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act 2016(18 of 2016) the Unique Identification Authority of India, hereby makes
the following regulations to further amend the Aadhaar (Enrolment and Update) Regulations, 2016 (No.2 of 2016),

Part I
PRELIMINARY
1 . Short title and commencement.––– (1) These regulations may be called the Aadhaar (Enrolment and Update)
(Tenth Amendment) Regulations, 2022 (No. 6 of 2022).
(2) These regulations shall come into force with effect from the date of publication of this notification.
Part II
2 . Amendment of Regulation 16. – In Regulation 16 of the principal Regulation, for the words ―in accordance with
update procedure specified in this Chapter‖, the words ―in accordance with update procedure as specified by the
Authority from time to time‖ shall be substituted.
3. Insertion of new Regulation 16A. – After Regulation 16 of the principal Regulation, the following new Regulation
shall be inserted, namely:-
―16A. Update of Documents. – Aadhaar number holders may, on completion of every 10 years from the date of
enrolment for Aadhaar, update their supporting documents in Aadhaar, at least once, by submitting Proof of Identity
(POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents as specified under Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Regulation 10
hereinabove, so as to ensure continued accuracy of their information in the Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR),
in such manner as may be specified by the Authority from time to time.‖
