हुए उच् चतम न् यायालय न् यायाधीि जनयम, 1959 का और सिं धन करने के जलए जनम्न जलजखत जनयम बनाती ै, अथाात् :-
1. (1) इन जनयमक का संजिप् त नाम उच् चतम न् यायाधीि (संि धन) जनयम, 2022 ै ।
(2) य ेराजपत्र में इनके प्रकािन की तारीख क प्रिृत् त ैकग े।
2. उच् चतम न् यायालय न् यायाधीि जनयम, 1959 (जजसे इसमें इसके पश् चात् उतत जनयम कैा गया ै) के जनयम 3ख
के उप जनयम (3) म,ें परंतुक के पश् चात् जनम्न जलजखत परंतुक अतं :स्ट्थ ाजपत दकया जाएगा, अथाता :-
“परंत ु यै और दक सेिाजनिृत् त मु्य न् यायमूति त और उच्च तम न् यायालय के सेिाजनिृत् त न् यायाधीि के साथ
जनम्न जलजखत कमाचािरिृंद, उच्च तम न् यायालय या उच् च न् यायालय के स्ट् थापन से उच् चतम न् यायालय के जनयजमत
कमाचािरयक क अनुज्ञेय पूणा िते न और भत् तक के साथ सेिाजनिृजत की तारीख से एक ि ा की अिजध के जलए जनय जजत
दकए जाएंगे:-
(क) चालक (उच् चतम न् यायालय में चालक के स्ट् तर के समतल्ु य)
(ख) सजचिालजयक सैायक (उच् चतम न् यायालय म ेंिाखा अजधकारी के स्ट्त र के समतल्ु य) ।” ।
3. उतत जनयमक के जनयम 3ख के पश् चात ् जनम्न जलजखत उप जनयम अंत:स्ट्थ ाजपत दकया जाएगा, अथाात:-

सेिाजनिृजत् त की तारीख से एक ि ा की अिजध के जलए 24 घटं े ि यजतत क सुरिा गाडा के अजतिरतत जनिास स्ट् थान पर
24 घंटे सरु िा किच के ैकदार ैकगे।” ।
4. उतत जनयमक के जनयम 4 म,ें स्ट् पष्ट ीकरण से पैल ेजनम्न जलजखत परंतुक अंत:स्ट् थाजपत दकया जाएगा, अथाात:-
“परंत ु सेिाजनिृत् त मु्य न् यायामूति त, सेिाजनिृजत् त की तारीख से छै मास की अिजध के जलए ददल्ल ी में टाइप-VII
(पदाजभजैत िासकीय िास-सुजिधा से जभन् न) दकराया मुत त िास-सुजिधा के ैकदार ैकगे।” ।
5. उतत जनयमक के जनयम 5 के पश् चात् जनम्न जलजखत जनयम अतं :स्ट्थ ाजपत दकया जाएगा, अथाता :-

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd August, 2022
G.S.R. 649(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clauses (c) and (f) of
sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1958
(41 of 1958), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Supreme Court
Judges Rules, 1959, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Supreme Court Judges (Amendment) Rules, 2022.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Supreme Court Judges Rules, 1959 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 3 B, in
sub-rule (3), after the proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-
“Provided further that the following staff shall be deployed with a retired Chief Justice and a retired Judge of
Supreme Court for a period of one year from the date of retirement from the establishment of Supreme Court
or a High Court with full pay and allowances admissible to regular employees of Supreme Court-
a) chauffeur (equivalent to the level of Chauffer in the Supreme Court).
b) secretarial assistant (equivalent to the level of the Branch Officer in the Supreme Court).”.
3. After rule 3 B of the said rules, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:-
“3 C. Security Cover.- A retired Chief Justice or retired Judges shall be entitled to a security
cover round the clock at residence in addition to round the clock personal security guard for a
period of one year from the date of retirement.”.
4. In rule 4 of the said rules, before the explanation, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-
“Provided that a retired Chief Justice shall be entitled to a rent free Type-VII accommodation at Delhi (other
than the designated official residence) for a period of six month from the date of retirement.”.
5. After rule 5 of the said rules, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:-
“5 A.Protocol.- A retired Chief Justice or a retired Judge shall be entitled to protocol to extend
courtsies at ceremonial lounges at airports.

following rules further to amend the High Court Judges Rules, 1956, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the High Court Judges (Amendment) Rules, 2022.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. After rule 2 E of the High Court Judge Rules, 1956, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:-
“2F. Protocol. - A retired Chief Justice of a High Court shall be entitled to protocol to extend courtsies at
ceremonial lounges at airports.”.
